Tags: Pilot, Rome, Holiday, Travel

By: Megat Arizal Izram Megat Abdullah (Flight Operations)

Same as the rest of you. Aim.. compose.. focus and snap. Not really ground breaking stuff but, 2 of my buddies really did say I was good. After I bought them “teh tarik” and “nasi lemak ayam”, I started to show them some of my snapshots when I was away during my night stop in Rome and begging them to say something nice and being my good buddies (plus me buying them supper..), I know they wouldn’t want to hurt my feelings. So yeah.. they said I was.. err.. “okay lah. quite good”.. while stuffing down those “nasi lemak”. And being me, I believed them.

So.. now that we’ve come to the conclusion that I take good pictures (heheheh..), it’s time to share some of those same snapshots with you people. Being a pilot, or to be precise, a First Officer on the 777, I do get to travel and see those places that I fly to. So people.. aren’t you excited to see my images? No? Ok..ok.. I’ll just post a few from my favourite places ok? So try to bear with me like my 2 buddies ok? Hehehe..

We’ll start with Italy. MAS flies to Rome (FCO) 3 times per week. So, when I was there recently, I got to spend a few days walking/driving around. It was beautiful even after being there countless times.

Then, continued heading towards Florence. While there, managed to capture a candid portrait of my colleague while we were sitting around in front one of the churches. I kind of like it.

After having McDonald’s, and all the standard wee wee breaks, we continued driving towards the Leaning Tower of Pisa. Not having any GPS, we drove with maps so, when we were in Pisa, we couldn’t find the tower and decided to ask the locals around.

Surprisingly, not many knew what we were talking about. Maybe it’s because we were trying to sound like Italians because like they say “when in Rome, do like what the Romans do”. Hehehe… but eventually, we found it. Sweet. And let me tell you.. it was awesome. And because of my superb photography skills (if you keep on believing that you’re a good photographer, sooner or later, people will start believing too.. hahaha..), after viewing it, you’ll want to book a flight there and take a picture like me too.. Wohoo..

See.. I kept my promise didn’t I? I told you I was going to post a few shots only.. And just to continue my story, after Pisa, we drove back to Rome. And with just a map, we got lost and arrived back at the hotel early in the morning. Just a word of advice.. if ever you’re going to drive around, get a GPS. It’s worth the extra Euros.

All right people.. What do you think? Nice right? Aww gee.. you’re just like my friends but only better.. Praising me without having to buy “teh tarik and nasi lemak”…. Hahahaha… Yeah.. I know. Sometimes I do sound lame. Okay then.. I’m not going to bore you any longer but I’d appreciate some feedback on my short but lovely story.

Thank you for your time spent reading this. Cheers!

Thanks for your compliments. Nasi Lemak and teh o ice laici? Sedap ke tu? I haven't tried but since you dah puji me.. No problemo :)

As for the tukang tangkap gambar, he is a very shy person. Hehehe.. Dont worry.. I'll try to come up with some stories coupled with some pictures again in the future.. Thanks for your time reading.

Dona: Hey Dona, thanks for your comments :) As for you wanting to realize your dreams, I suggest you submit your application to MAS HR department.

As for the smooth landing, well.. sometimes it all depends on the surface conditions at the time of landing. Meaning to say, if it's early in the morning, it's usually calm (wind) hence the chances to get a very smooth landing is good :)
