Distributing LSG bubur lambuk at SZBAP

How many would know what bubur lambuk is?  Well, apart from our Malay colleagues this delicacy might be pretty foreign.  Little did I know, bubur lambuk is a Terengganu specialty served during the fasting month of Ramadan?  In a nutshell, it is rice porridge cooked with different kinds of herbs, sweet potatoes, fish crackers, dry prawn, beef, chicken, etc.  Daun kesum, pucuk manis, pucuk paku that are found growing on peat swamp forest are also used.  The taste, yummy!

Our Communications team recently organized two bubur lambuk handing out sessions on 20th August 2010 in SZB and 3rd September 2010 in SSZ, PMIM.  Our Chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Munir Majid, MD, Tengku Dato’ Azmil Zahruddin and senior members of the management were on hand to support this joyous occasion by giving out bubur lambuk in containers to colleagues.  Throughout these two events, colleagues of various races helped out in whatever means possible; stacking up containers, setting up canopies, arranging chairs and etc.  It wasn’t only our Malay colleagues that got to enjoy this delicacy; colleagues from all races got to receive this delicacy from the senior management themselves.

This was made possible by LSG Skychefs who so kindly donated the delicacy for both events.  All-in-all, there were 3,000 containers!  To top this off, LSG provided a variety of food and drinks for the breaking of fast in PMIM, SSZ.

Not forgetting the under privileged, the event on 3rd September also included a group of 19 children aged between 8 to 16 years old from Rumah Anak-anak Yatim/Miskin Taman Baiduri Dengkil.  They had a blast with a talk by Abdul Latif Sulaiman from Aircraft Maintenance Unit, followed by a visit to Hangar 6 where the children had a rare glimpse of various aircrafts.  To add icing to the cake, they were treated to a short tour within the B747-400 aircraft which is currently Malaysia Airlines’ largest in its fleet.  At about 4:30pm, the children were ferried to the PMIM where Dato' Captain Mohd Fauzi Aziz gave an inspiring career talk; not forgetting the story of the three pontianaks (malay, for vampire) which got the children laughing their hearts out!

Bubur Lambuk - 6.JPG

On a whole, both events reflected the multicultural Malaysia we so cherish.  This reminds me of the malay phrase, “mengeratkan silaturahim” which in English symbolizes oneness and closeness.  If you ask me what we’ve managed to achieve through these two events I’d say without a doubt, 1MH!

Merdeka Day at CCLOPS.JPG

Our 53rd Merdeka Day was celebrated by CCLOPS on a moderate scale on the 2nd Floor Flight Management Building. In view of Ramadan only light refreshment was made available for non Muslim crew. It was however still a very joyful celebration.

Flight Management Building was decorated with the Jalur Gemilang to create the Merdeka atmosphere for the occasion. Our Juara Team, Ctrl. Chang Ching Kwang, IFS S&P Amirudin Salleh and me were at FMB from 0645hrs giving out MH Juara’s Malaysian Flag Button to crew who were going for flight.

Merdeka Day at CCLOPS - 2.JPG

All flights departing KUL to Domestic, Regional and London were identified as ‘FEEL MH’ Showtime sector. Our team ensured that each flight identified had a ‘FEEL MH’ Showtime pack to create the Merdeka ambience in-flight to delight our esteemed passengers traveling with us on this auspicious day.

We were very fortunate to have with us two young budding photographer, IFS S&P Amirudin son and daughter, to send crew off for flight. We the CCLOP Juara Team on behalf of our Mr. Gunalan would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to everyone who had contributed to the success of this event.

TYO staff holding up the Malaysian flag

Our Tokyo (TYO) team shares their proud moments in the spirit of Malaysia’s 53rd birthday on 31 August 2010. No doubt most of our team members are not Malaysians, but we help keep Merdeka alive for those who celebrate it here. Herewith, our TYO team sharing what Merdeka means to us.

By TYO Cargo team

The TYO cargo team has transformed in many ways since 2002.  New operations of other carriers has turned to capacity increase and influenced to rating.  We have changed to offer greater flexibility to our customers. Staff in TYO & NRT, with the help of the new booking system, has survived in this competing air cargo market.

We have a spirit of oneMH and one good teamwork.  We have consulted each other well, and cooperated beyond our own individual roles – listening to each other and letting the supply of knowledge flow freely.  This teamwork spirit contributes to our profit and global growth. We are also proud to have the 2nd B74F freighter operating to NRT since May 2010.

E   Everyday we work as oneMH team.
R   Rainbow hung in the sky after the heavy rain.
D   Day by day Malaysia Airlines is growing & having gone through tremendous changes.
E   Early 70’s - we operated our 1st flight as Malaysia Airlines. Each year after 2006, we received lots of AWARDS!
K   Key to success = We Care about our CUSTOMERS, COLLEAGUES, COMPANY, and not forgetting ourselves & our family!
A   And then we can fly high in the happy blue sky!

Merdeka - Tokyo 1.png

By TYO Reservation/Ticketing team

On 2 April 1947, MH took to the skies with its first commercial flight as the national airline. Many changes and innovation has happened since 1947. We have achieved fast growth and success. As a result, today, MH flies nearly 50,000 passengers daily to over 100 destinations worldwide.

Since then we've changed from a small Southeast Asian airline to a global one, flying to 6 continents over 100 destinations spanning over half a century. Since we have launched flights to TYO, we have undergone various transformations, such as changing flights from via HKG TPE to direct flights in the early 90s. We have seen growth in our business since then.

In 2008, we received the World’s Best Cabin award. Without working together with a positive teamwork, we would never be able to achieve this.

Now we are united than ever before under oneMH, a Juara programme which was launched amongst all the staff early this year. We are trying to deliver Malaysian Hospitality externally and internally.  Recently, the “Think Customer First” was introduced by HQ. This is a long-term initiative.

Our current aim is to operate out of Haneda come mid November 2010. We will need to work even harder under the oneMH banner to attain this and to transform ourselves into a more successful company. In the spirit of Merdeka, we need to get back to the basics of our business, learn more from successful carriers and listen to the staff and customers’ voice. Now, we are trying to make Haneda as our hub in Japan just like how we intend to transform BKI as a leading hub. We hope we can deliver Malaysian Hospitality and successful growth via this station.

BANDUNG, as I know is a fascinating city in West Java that has many attractive and interesting places to visit. Yet, there are several kinds of food, drink, fashionable trend, handicraft and other enjoyable things. It wouldn’t be satisfied to guide you around Bandung in a whole day. Going through the roads in the city would be a memorable moment when the weather is friendly. Its climate is relatively cold; about 18-20°C along the days as the area is surrounded by mountains and hills. This mountainous are obviously beautiful scenery to be seen especially at night. The light of houses and buildings on the hill brightened the slope.

Bandung - 3.png

Dago Waterfall near Bandung

Bandung consists of five areas. The North, West, Central, East and South. The most populated areas are in Northern and Central... Most populations are Moslems, specially the Sudanese, its native people. Moreover, there are many people settled in this city for such reasons. For instance, many students come from outside Bandung and living at places called “Kos-kosan” or rent house. We know that Bandung is famous as “a city of academic” besides Yogyakarta. Universities spread around the city.

Bandung - 4.png

Mount Tangkuban Perahu

Bandung is a historical city as well. Some old buildings and roads are maintained and kept originally. Like on Jalan Braga, Jalan Merdeka, Gedung Merdeka (Merdeka Building), Alun-alun (Central Market) and Masjid Agung (The Great Mosque). You can go around the city by some kind of public transportation. One of them is called “Angkot” a minibus which carries you to each parts of Bandung. There are more than twenty directions of “Angkot” starting from the bus stations. The center of bus stations is at Leuwi Panjang where you can take buses to Jakarta, Bogor and other city around Bandung. It takes about 2, 5 hours going to Bandung by bus through Padaleunyi Freeway. If you go to Bandung by train, it takes longer time but you will see beautiful sceneries along the trip. There are Mount Gede dan Mout Salak, padi field, rivers, and tea plant areas and so on.

I have been a few days in Bandung and I have no difficulty communicating with the local people. They are very friendly to others even if you are a foreigner. Now the people are more heterogeneous because the amount of outsiders increased every year.

Bandung - Sudanese Food

I love living in Bandung as well as tasting its various food and drink. We may choose any kinds of foods, depends on our preference and economic conditions. The prices are various from cheap to expensive, in several kind of places such as “Warung Tenda” where you eat in a food stall on the road side or luxurious restaurant in a shopping mall. The most important is much Halal Food sold in each part of the city. Many traditional foods are various as well. If you’re crazy of fashionable trend and up to date fashion style, there are many factory outlets spread around the city that you can buy fashionable costumes with various prices. The most famous place is on Jalan Cihampelas which offers jeans and its accessories. Later, people knows “Cimol” or “Cibadak Mall” where you can buy new and old costumes imported from abroad with lower process. Since I go to Bandung, I know that young people here are very fashionable and unique. They wear up to date costumes especially to the campus.

Its famous handicraft is “Wayang Golek” a wooden doll handled by hand and the show directed by a man called “Dalang”. The Cibaduyut’s shoes are also worth to be your souvenirs.

By: Lisa Kovaloff (Malaysia Airlines, Sydney)

Welcome to Sydney - 1.bmp

Welcome to Sydney - 2.bmp

As a life time resident of this wonderful city, I am a little biased as to why it is the best city in the world.

Culturally diverse, with a moderate climate that encourages a relaxed lifestyle, outstanding fresh food and world-class wines, and of course, the stunning natural beauty of the harbour and foreshores are just a few of the drawcards.

Sydney is considered the gateway to Australia by many visitors. It is the largest and most diverse cosmopolitan city with sooooo much to offer visitors whether they are here for a day, the weekend or more. Even as a local I have my “must do” list of places to see and things to do.

Welcome to Sydney - 3.JPG

The Malaysia Airlines Town Office is in a great location for exploring the foreshores. We are spoilt for choice if we wish to walk around at lunchtime. Not only do we have the Bridge and the Opera House, you can wander through the Botanic Gardens, stroll down to the Rocks (a heritage precinct with great food, shopping and activities) or if you are really quick you can jump on a ferry and watch harbour life glide by.

Ultimately, Sydney is a city that invites you to get out and about. The weather is favourable and whether you are looking for adventure and activity, or just looking for a great place to eat or shop, you feel the buzz of Sydney where ever you are.

What makes Sydney so …SYDNEY?

Can I name just five reasons to visit Sydney?

1. The Harbour
2. The Parks
3. The Food
4. The Arts
5. The People

Welcome to Sydney - 5.JPG

Welcome to Sydney - 4.JPG

Undoubtedly, Sydney Harbour is the instant image most people would have when thinking of Sydney. You instantly feel enervated and positive by the harbour. The Harbour Bridge and the Opera House are our most famous icons. But being out and about on the water is the best. And the great thing is, for the price of a ferry ticket, you can travel all around the harbour, past the Opera House, under the bridge, to Darling Harbour and the Eastern Suburbs, across to Taronga Zoo and Manly.

Of course, there are other harbour cruise options, many with dining options. Sydney Harbour at night has a magic all of its’ own.

Australia has wonderful diverse flora and fauna as well as unique landscapes and the best way to discover these are in the National Parks. Let’s face it, our most recognised animals the koala and kangaroos, are a must see for most visitors.

NSW has many National Parks and there are dozens in the Sydney area alone. Sydney Harbour NP, Royal NP, Lane Cove NP and Kuringai NP are all within easy reach. They are designed to protect environments from rainforests and rugged bush to marine wonderlands and outback deserts. You'll find campsites, wilderness and walking tracks to suit everyone. As well as the National Parks, Bi-Centennial Park at Homebush and Centennial Park at Randwick are great spaces to relax and enjoy a picnic, bike or horse ride.

Welcome to Sydney - 12.png Welcome to Sydney - 13.png

Feeling hungry? What do you feel like eating?

With such cultural diversity and fabulous local produce, you will be able to find something to eat (halal food available), all day and all night. From fine dining to a pie from “Harry’s Café de Wheels”, from High Tea to Night markets, food is never far away. In the city head to the Rocks, Chinatown or Circular Quay. Or head underground to one of the many food courts.

Welcome to Sydney - 14.JPG

Wind down with a bit of culture. Apart from the Opera House, there are numerous venues offering theatre, music and the visual arts. New and exciting shows are always on, there is rarely a culturally dull moment. The NSW Art Gallery, Museum of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Sydney are just a few venues in the heart of Sydney.

What can I say? The people are open, outgoing and very friendly. Right mate!

A quick poll around the office came up with these “SYDNEY MOMENTS”.

MR ONG: Recommends a visit to the Sydney Fish Markets on a beautiful day with a chilled bottle and a seafood platter. The vision of the array of just-caught seafood is breathtaking in itself, further complimented with the smell and taste. The location is superb, just on the border of the city next to Anzac Bridge ands within a stone’s throw away from Darling Harbour.

PAM: Things to do in Sydney:
Catch a ferry to Manly, pass the Opera House & under the Bridge.
Catch a ferry to Taronga Zoo.
Catch a ferry to Darling Harbour and see the Aquarium and Wildlife Park.
Catch the free bus (Sydney Buses Route 555) down George Street to Chinatown.
Go shopping at Paddy’s Markets for souvenirs and Market City for outlet shopping. Have a picnic in the Botanic Gardens at Mrs Macquarie’s Chair.
If you have a bit more to spend – Do a Bridge Climb, go on an Opera House Tour & Concert, do the Skywalk at Centre point Tower or have dinner at the Summit in the revolving restaurant – probably the greatest 360 degree view day or night.

CRYSTAL: My favourite and recommended restaurants:-
Spice Temple on Bligh Street
Oyster Bar at Circular Quay
Tomos in Surry Hills
Café Sydney, Customs House, Circular Quay
Park Hyatt at the Rocks
High Tea at the Victoria Tea Rooms, Darlinghurst
Ocean Room, Circular Quay
Spice I Am, Wentworth Street
Emmis on Liberty, Stanmore
Yum Cha at Iron Chef, Cabramatta
Waterbag and Grill, Collaroy
Pangolin, Strand Arcade, Sydney
Hurstville Chinese Restaurant.

MELISSA: Suggests trying out these bars and restaurants.
The IVY – check out the pool bar!
http://www.merivale.com/#/ivy/ivybar
The Establishment
The Loft on King Street Wharf, Cockle Bay
Icebergs at Bondi Beach
Surry Hills/Paddington/Darlinghurst & Kings Cross should be explored.
For shopping nothing beats Paddington & the Sunday Markets at Bondi Public School

WARREN: The Watson’s Bay Hotel.
Easy to get to by ferry from the city or bus from Bondi
Casual atmosphere, sunny, outdoor setting showcasing Sydney Harbour and the CBD Skyline.
Also, Doyle’s Restaurant at Watson’s Bay

Welcome to Sydney - 15.JPG

Welcome to Sydney - 16.JPG

Shopping is a must on everyone’s list.
In the CBD the major shopping areas are Pitt Street Mall, Queen Victoria Building (QVB), Paddy’s Markets, Market City and Chinatown.
For factory outlets head to Market City, Birkenhead Point at Drummoyne (fabulous setting right on the water) or DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) at Homebush (catch the 525 bus from Strathfield station right to the door).

When most people think of Sydney, they picture the CBD area with most of our iconic views. But Sydney is a large city, and if you have the time to leave central city – head west or east or south.

I live on the outskirts of the city, in the foothills of the mountains. I commute 2 hours each way every day. Each day as I cross the Hawkesbury River I feel as if I am entering another world. From farmland and market gardens, this slowly gives way to the city as I travel first by bus then by train. Some days I even see kangaroos along the train line!! The line passes through Parramatta, the next largest city within Sydney, home to WestPoint Shopping Centre, a huge complex, possibly the largest in Australia. It is located right at the station.

If you have the time, it is worth heading to the Hawkesbury District. It is right on the river, and is one of the oldest settlements in Australia. There are many historical features and a walk around is enlightening. There are markets in Windsor Mall each Sunday with music playing in the park.
Vault 146 is a highly recommended restaurant. Also in the district, check out Richmond and Kurrajong. Or just drive down country lanes, enjoyable in any season. On Hawkesbury Harvest trail you can even pick your own produce.

Enough! Just get over here and find out for yourself!

Something for everyone – singles, couples, families, grandparents, even dogs have it good in Sydney (check out Café Bones at Leichhardt for a doggie fix).

Sydney is an amazing city. Cosmopolitan, vibrant, exciting and relaxing.
We have it all and are very lucky.

Welcome to Sydney - 19.png Welcome to Sydney - 20.png

I took these photos one lunch time – we don’t have to visit – it’s all on our doorstep.

Maldives - 1.jpg Maldives - 2.jpg

When I was told that I was appointed Area Manager Colombo & Maldives and would be stationed in Colombo, my first thoughts were about the civil unrest in Colombo. But the reprieve was that, if something serious happened in Colombo, at least I had an alternative - run off to Maldives!

I had not heard much about Maldives but was told that it is a holiday resort and so you immediately think about Phuket or Bali, which are our neighboring islands.  My first encounter of Maldives was on my way to my posting in Colombo and the flight stops in Maldives en-route to Colombo. Since it was 10 at night, you could not see much but, seeing the glittering lights on all the boats docked at the island, you could feel the relaxing mood of a typical holiday resort.

Maldives - 3.jpg

When I came to Maldives for my induction, I was truly amazed at the beauty of Maldives. An apt description of Maldives could be summed up as – It’s as though Mother Nature has colluded with the Goddess of Beauty to create an environment that just stuns the mind, and enlivens the senses, from the whitest of sand, the bluest of sea to the greenest of plant life.

The Maldives is an archipelago of 1190 islands, about 650 kilometers south-west of Sri Lanka. The islands are scattered in a chainlike formation extending 820 km from North to South and 130 km at its widest point.

Maldives is a destination of dazzling tropical beauty that offers the perfect recipe for relaxation. It also offers a variety of tourist resorts that cater to the taste and moods of different people. There are about 95 resorts in all and more are being developed. The resorts vary from those that offer a ‘Robinson Crusoe’ style of holiday to a more conventional type of resort holiday.

All resorts have basically the same activity such as wind-surfing, catamaran sailing, parasailing etc. But you also have normal activity like tennis, volleyball, basketball, table-tennis, caroms etc. You could also go island hopping which is a full-day excursion that takes you to 2 or 3 island, some uninhabited.

Other activities you could indulge in are safaris, surfing, snorkeling and night fishing. Night fishing is a true Maldivian leisure activity. Just before sunset you head out to a reef close by. The boat captains are familiar with where the best fishing would be for the specific time of the year. Once the boat anchors, the lines are baited and dropped overboard. Red snapper and grouper are firm favorites on a night fishing trip.

Maldives - 4.jpg

The capital of Maldives is Male’ and Male’ International Airport is a fully fledged international airport on the island of Hulhule. Ferry boats operate at 15 minutes interval from Hulhule to the capital island – Male’.

Immigration procedures at the airport are quite simple. Tourists are given a 30-day visa on arrival. For extensions you will have to apply to the Department of Immigration in Male’.

Transfer to resorts is by seaplane or speedboat. The jetty at the airport island provides access to the resort transfer vessels and if you are traveling by seaplane, there are buses that will take you to the seaplane terminals on the eastern side of the airport island.

Each resort is on an island of its own and it’s a self contained entity. Resorts vary in terms of number of rooms and range from 40 rooms to 450 rooms on the large resorts. Each island beaches the lagoon, the reef around the resort, the marine life, and it’s all yours to explore once you are checked-in. You will get the feeling that you’ve entered the Disney world of ‘Finding Nemo’ only this time it’s all live around you!

You could choose Maldives as a holiday destinations to just unwind and relax or you could select it for special celebrations such as your honeymoon or anniversary.

A good starter for MAS Melor Toastmasters - 1.png

Meeting started with a roar of vuvuzela brought in all the way from South Africa during the World Cup season.

Our Saa Tm Ganesh Kumar hit the gavel and started the meeting with a smile in his half shaven face and welcomed the entire guest that came for the meeting.

President Naeelah gave her first presidential speech to start off the meeting by thanking everyone for coming. She spoke about how to make the meeting great each time and vowed to make a success and eventually working towards achieving Presidents Distinguished Clun status.

A good starter for MAS Melor Toastmasters - 2.png

Toastmaster of the evening is none other than Meyappa Manikam, DTM who started the meeting going with a marvelous welcome. His voice and poise got everyone’s attention and we all paid attention. He introduces all the role players and had them reading out their roles. He stressed how important the role plays in a typical toastmasters meeting. Before that, Meyappa also gave us a brief history of how toastmaster begun and the achievement till present. He also explains the path to success very precisely. He kept us focus with interval jokes injecting in his role as toastmaster of the evening.

A good starter for MAS Melor Toastmasters - 3.png

The table topic session started with the President herself, Naeelah Bushra being the topics master. Without hesitation she called Paulson for the first title as he has been missing in action for some time. The topic given to him was (remembering the first day at work). He shared how he felt about on the first day of work, everything still very fresh in mind.

Without hesitation the 2nd speaker was chosen again by the President. The topic given to Tm Sukdev Singh (Singh is king) is (first day at school). As expected Sukdev spoke with high confidence and a lot of humor. I guess that’s why he was voted the best Table Topics Speaker.

The 3rd speaker was a new member of Mas Melor and had never spoken before. The title given to him was (the first time you met your girlfriend). Mohd Yunus was very shy as though he was really in that situation and shares with us how the girl he met is now his wife. So you can guess the rest of the story, right?

Terrence Gomez, Tm, did his 5th speech from cc manual titled THE FIFA WORLD CUP. He explained to us the detail information on how foodball started and how it became famous. It was very informative speech and so much to remember. He was evaluated by Paulson Rose.

The 2nd speaker was Thiagarajah Nesan, cc with his 2nd speech from the Special Occasion Speeches manual. His set the stage as he is a FAM representative from Malaysia who went to South Africa to watch the world Cup matches and was called to give his feedback in the FIFA council meeting on how football inspires him. Thiagarajah began the speech by thanking FIFA for the invitation. He also mention why he spends so much money coming for the World Cup. The inspiration came from the man called DEIGO ARMANDO MARADONA who displayed exceptional skill at his feet and how he dribbled his way into glory and made Argentina super power in football. Thiagarajah in his speech wore a ski cap signifying his support to Maradona and at the end of the speech blew the famous VUVUZELA to mark gratitude to FIFA for organizing the great event. He was evaluated by DTM Bernard Louis.

IPP of Mas Cempaka, Emil Anthony, Acs/Cl, with his speech entitled PROMISE ARE MEANT TO BE BROKEN got his The Best Speakers of the Day Certificate. He spoke about how fun it is to break promises.  He shared many stories and injected humor and made his speech a fun filled meeting. He was evaluated by Naeelah Bushra.

A good starter for MAS Melor Toastmasters - 4.png

Choosing the right speech at the right time is what Capt Missman did by doing his 1st speech from the special occasion speeches by mastering the toast. He spoke about how Mas Melor achieved the Presidents Distinguished Club Status. The speeches were to honor the individual who worked hard towards the status. Capt Missman did a toast and ended his speech. He was evaluated by AG W1 Hakim Hamzah. Without breaking the promise Toastmaster of the evening, Meyappa Manikam, called for the most exciting moment of the meeting ……….the BREAK.

The food of course with concept of ‘pot luck’ gave a variety of choices. Doug nuts, vadai, putu mayam, fried rice, roti canai, pepper chicken, soft drinks and tea coffee did really fill our stomachs. Some even broke their plate taking heavy loads of …………you know the rest of it.

Saa, Ganesh called to order to start our second half of the meeting. He hand over to toastmaster of the evening, Meyappa Manikam after which he introduced our General Evaluator for our meeting Stephen Fernando,Atmb/Cl.

Stephen Fernando with his usual humor began his job by calling upon our table topic evaluator, IPP Jamila Khan, Acb to give her evaluation. Jamila gave a good evaluation and stated that the table topics are a good place to start especially for new members.

Stephen then called all 4 evaluators, Paulson, Bernard, Naeelah and Hakim to give their evaluation. They were all very positive and encouraging. They shared their view and also gave tip to improvise speeches. Bernard was voted again for the evaluation this time. Being a veteran in toastmasters he surely is a professional.

Our policeman, AH counter man, Terrence Gomez gave his report on speech clichés and it appear very few people made very few mistake which is a good sign. This was followed by language evaluators report by Thiagarajah Nesan. He also said there was no grammatical errors in the meeting everyone seems to be speaking good English. The word of the day ‘VOLATILE’ was used by 4 people and comments by General Evaluator as the word was difficult to be used by many.

The timer IPP Emil Anthony did a great job in keeping the plan on time. He reported the timing of everyone role players and speaker very precisely and confidently.

General Evaluator wrapped up the meeting saying it was a great 1st meeting for Mas Melor and looking forward for more meetings in MAS. He is also very keen now to join Mas as a Flight Attendant. We wish him luck.

A good starter for MAS Melor Toastmasters - 5.png

Once again Toastmaster of the evening Meyappa Manikam energized everyone in the meeting and inspired the entire new member to follow the journey with fun and passion. He is indeed a great Toastmaster and it was an honor having him for this meeting and looking forward for the future ones….

Mas Melor President Naeelah Bushra gave her closing speech and made some announcements. He also thanked the entire guest who joined the meeting.

Persembahan MASenidaya - 1.png

Persembahan MASenidaya - 2.png

Persembahan MASenidaya - 5.png

MASgamelan membuat latihan akhir…

Persembahan MASenidaya - 6.png

MAStari latihan terakhir…..

Ping Pong Tournament - 1.JPG

Cabin Crew Sports Council/MH Juaras organized a Cabin Crew Ping-Pong Tournament 2010 in April 2010. The event took place in Kelab Sukan MAS building in SZB Hub. It turned out to be a successful event.

A total of 50 people turned up as early as 0730hrs at KSM that morning and 30 players registered for the game. Breakfast and lunch were sponsored by MH Juara CCLOPS. The food was catered by MHUB Caterers, a five star caterer in the region. Everyone enjoyed the Nasi Lemak with telor mata and condiments. Tea and coffee were also provided.

The game was set in round-robin style with winner and losers pools. Nine teams competed to win the ancient game of fast-ball. The logistics and secretariat were assisted by the Malaysia Airlines Table-Tennis Club (MATTC). The game started with a welcome speech by our MATTC Chairman, En. Azmi Azizan, AGM for MAS Property.

Ping Pong Tournament - 2.JPG Ping Pong Tournament - 3.JPG

The tournament was made loud and clear by our fun filled MC for the event, LSS Rozania who kept the game on the move with lots of announcements. Everyone who took part enjoyed themselves immensely. All the players displayed great skill and “art of war’ through-out the tournament. They performed like professionals and amazed the MATTC officials. It looks like this is going to be a yearly event. Besides performance, everyone looked good with the specially designed t-shirt for this tournament. The t-shirt is also sponsored by MH Juara CCLOPS.

Chidren were also entertained with balloons shaped and designed by CS Ginger Lim, to their liking. GM of Inflight Services Puan Hayati Dato Ali also dropped by to support and cheered for the players. She also enjoyed watching the players in action displaying their talents in ping-pong.

Lunch was served at 1230hrs. Fried rice with fried chicken, fruits and orange cordial were just in time to fill the hungry crowd. Although, we had Champions and runners-ups, everyone was a winner. The event was smooth and joyful. Thanks to the spouses and children whom came to support.
